Job summary

UM Specialist Centre in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Pharmacist to join the Pharmacy Services team. You will dispense, prepare drugs, compound, label, and counsel patients to ensure safe and effective dispensation of medications.

Requirements include a Diploma in Pharmacy and 1–4 years of hospital pharmacy experience, with strong inventory management knowledge, multitasking ability, and excellent communication within a busy healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Pharmacy or equivalent qualification.
• 1–4 years of working experience in a hospital pharmacy or healthcare setting.
• Good knowledge of pharmacy inventory management and clinical practices.

Responsibilities

• Screening and order entry of prescriptions and drug charts
• Confirmation with doctors in the event of illegible handwriting, dosage/frequency/duration error or drug unavailability
• Compounding pharmaceutical products for extemporaneous use
• Packaging, labelling, checking and dispensing of medications
• Sending prepared medications to the ward
• Conducting monthly ward check and pharmacy stock check on slow moving items and short expiry items
• Providing patient counselling when required
• Providing drug information to patients, doctors, nurses and other hospital personnel
• Restocking drugs in pharmacy, wards and units
• Ensuring adequate inventory level of general supplies for smooth service operation
