Job summary

Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara (THKD) seeks a Diploma-qualified Pharmacist to dispense medications, counsel patients, and assist in ward drug supplies. The candidate should be willing to work shifts and support the department's safety and inventory initiatives.

Experience in a tertiary hospital setting is preferred, with responsibilities including stock checks, TPN services, and collaboration across disciplines. Join a busy hospital team with overtime as required.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Pharmacy required.
• Prior experience working in tertiary hospital setting preferred.
• Willing to work on shift basis.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and dispenses medications to patients with appropriate usage instructions according to the prescriber's instructions.
• Contacts the prescriber when in doubt regarding prescribed medications.
• Supplies drugs to the wards and units according to required par levels.
• Prepares extemporaneous and galenical preparations per patients' needs.
• Assists in quarterly stock checks within the department and wards.
• Supports Pharmacist in TPN services, patient counselling, and stock checks.
• Fosters harmonious departmental teamwork and collaboration with staff.
• Works overtime as required and scheduled by the Pharmacist or Head of Department.
• Aids Head of Department in planning, monitoring, and safety/performance initiatives.

Responsibility

• Prepares extemporaneous and galenical preparations in accordance with the special needs of patients/departments.

• Assists in performing quarterly stock checks within the department as well as in the wards.

• Assists the Pharmacist in departmental activities such as TPN services, patient counselling, and periodic stock checks for inventory control and expiry date monitoring.

• Helps create and maintain a harmonious departmental team and fosters good working relationships with all staff across disciplines.

• Works overtime as and when required.

• Able to work shift hours as scheduled by the Pharmacist or the Head of Department.

• Assists the Head of Department in planning, monitoring, and managing safety and performance improvement activities when needed.
