The Pest Control Technician plays a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and regulatory compliance within our manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for the hands‑on execution and monitoring of the plant’s Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) enforcement, and facility sanitation protocols.
Program Oversight Coordinate with and monitor external pest control vendors to ensure all services comply with food safety standards.
Routine Inspections Conduct daily and weekly checks of insect light traps (ILTs), pheromone traps, and internal/external rodent bait stations.
Data & Trend Analysis Review pest catches logs and vendor reports to identify trend patterns, implementing immediate corrective actions for any spikes in activity.
Structural Exclusion Proactively identify and report structural gaps, damaged door seals, or structural defects that could allow pest entry.
Chemical Control Maintain an updated inventory of approved, food‑safe chemicals and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) used on‑site.
Daily Plant Walkthroughs Conduct routine facility audits to ensure production staff comply with GMP rules (e.g., proper hairnets, uniforms, handwashing, and tool storage).
Pre‑Operational Inspections Perform pre‑op hygiene checks on production lines before manufacturing begins to ensure zero chemical or physical contamination.
Non‑Conformance Reporting Issue corrective action requests when GMP violations or hygiene lapses are found, and follow up to ensure resolution.
