Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a responsible Personal/Family Driver in Penang, Malaysia. The position involves safe driving for the employer and family, route planning, punctual pickups, and vehicle upkeep.

You will assist with luggage and errands while maintaining strict confidentiality. Requirements include a valid Malaysian driving licence, 2–3 years driving experience, and willingness to work 6 days per week with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid Malaysian driving licence.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant driving experience; Personal/Family/Company Driver or Chauffeur preferred.
• Work 6 days per week and flexible hours; overtime when required.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct at all times.
• Able to communicate in Bahasa Malaysia; English/Mandarin an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Drive employer and family members safely to destinations (work, appointments, school, airport, events).
• Plan routes and manage travel time; ensure punctual pick-ups and drop-offs.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and basic safety checks; arrange servicing as needed.
• Assist with luggage and light carrying; run occasional errands.
• Maintain professionalism and discretion in all interactions.

Job description

We are looking for a responsible, reliable, and experienced Personal / Family Driver to provide safe and efficient transportation for the employer and family members.

Key responsibilities include:

• Drive employer and family members safely to and from work, appointments, meetings, school, airport, events, and other destinations as required.
• Plan suitable routes and manage travel time efficiently.
• Ensure punctual pick-up and drop-off at all times.
• Maintain the cleanliness and good condition of the assigned vehicle.
• Conduct basic vehicle checks such as fuel level, tyre condition, engine oil, and general vehicle condition.
• Arrange vehicle servicing, maintenance, road tax, inspection, or repairs when required.
• Follow all traffic laws and practise safe and defensive driving.
• Assist with carrying luggage, groceries, parcels, or other reasonable items when necessary.
• Run occasional errands for the employer or family.
• Maintain professionalism, discretion, and strict confidentiality regarding the employer and family’s personal matters.
• Perform other driving-related duties as assigned.
• Safe & Defensive Driving: Demonstrates responsible driving habits and strong awareness of road safety.
• Punctuality & Time Management: Able to plan journeys properly and arrive on time for scheduled pick-ups.
• Reliability & Responsibility: Dependable, trustworthy, and able to carry out duties with minimal supervision.
• Discretion & Confidentiality: Respects the privacy of the employer and family and does not disclose personal information.
• Good Navigation Skills: Familiar with local roads and able to use GPS applications such as Google Maps or Waze effectively.
• Vehicle Care: Able to monitor the general condition and cleanliness of the vehicle and identify basic maintenance needs.
• Flexibility: Willing to adjust working hours when required, including occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends, or public holidays.
• Professional Conduct: Polite, patient, well-mannered, and presentable when dealing with the employer, family members, guests, and external parties.
• Good Communication: Able to receive instructions clearly and provide updates when necessary.
• Calm Under Pressure: Able to remain patient and composed during traffic congestion, schedule changes, or unexpected situations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Possess a valid Malaysian driving licence.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant driving experience; experience as a Personal Driver, Family Driver, Company Driver, or Chauffeur is preferred.
• Good and safe driving record.
• Familiar with local roads and traffic conditions.
• Able to use navigation applications such as Waze and Google Maps.
• Physically fit and able to assist with luggage or light carrying when required.
• Responsible, punctual, honest, and trustworthy.
• No serious traffic offences or reckless driving history.
• Able to work 6 days per week.
• Willing to work flexible hours or overtime when required.
• Able to communicate in Bahasa Malaysia; ability to communicate in English and/or Mandarin would be an advantage.
• Must maintain strict confidentiality regarding the employer and family.
• Monthly salary of RM2,500 – RM3,500, depending on experience and suitability.
• Overtime / additional allowance, where applicable.
• EPF, SOCSO and EIS contributions in accordance with statutory requirements.
• Annual leave and public holiday entitlement in accordance with company policy / applicable employment regulations.
