Job summary

GienTech Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Mid-to-Senior Test Engineer to design and validate mission-critical financial applications hosted on GCP and AWS.

The role focuses on non-functional testing—performance, reliability, security, and operational readiness—with an automation mindset and hands-on scripting experience. You will collaborate with development, infrastructure, and operations to create comprehensive test strategies, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain audit-ready

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of software testing experience.
• Strong understanding of nonfunctional testing methodologies, including performance and load testing, failover and resilience testing, backup and restore validation, and operational readiness testing.

Responsibilities

• Test Planning & Design: plan and design performance and load tests, failover tests, backup validation, and operational readiness checks.
• Automation & Tooling: develop and maintain automated test scripts using Shell, Python, Ansible, or Terraform; integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Test Execution & Analysis: perform performance, stress, and failover testing for GCP/AWS-hosted applications; analyze results and work with engineering teams to resolve issues; ensure compliance with financial regulations.

Performance/ Non-Functional Testers (Banking)

Job Role: Test Engineer (Financial Systems)

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Mid-to-Senior Test Engineerto join our team in building and validating mission-critical financial applicationshosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that systems meet stringent non-functional requirements, including performance, reliability, security, and operational readiness. This role requires a strong automation mindset, the ability to quickly understand complex systems, and hands-on experience with scripting and orchestration tools. You will work closely with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to design and execute comprehensive test strategies that meet both technicaland regulatorydemands within a highly regulated financial environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Test Planning & Design

• - Performance and load testing
• - Failover and resilience testing
• - Backup and restore validation
• - Operational readiness testing

2. Automation & Tooling

Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Shell, Python, Ansible, or Terraform.

Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelinesto enable repeatable and efficient validation.

3. Test Execution & Analysis

Conduct performance, stress, and failover testingfor GCP-hosted applications, including:

• - BigQuery
• -Cloud Functions
• - Dataform
• - Container / VMbased services

Analyse test results, identify bottlenecks, and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve performance and reliability issues.

Ensure testing approaches align with financial industry regulations(e.g. MAS TRM, PCI DSS) and internal security policies.

Maintain comprehensive documentation to support audit and compliancerequirements.

Work closely with crossfunctional teams to rapidly learn new systems and apply testing best practices.

Provide guidance on operational proceduresand quality assurance standards.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Experience & Knowledge

Minimum 3+ years of software testing experience.

Strong understanding of nonfunctional testing methodologies, including:

• - Performance and load testing
• - Failover and resilience testing
• - Backup and restore validation
• - Operational readiness testing

Technical Skills

Proficiency in automation scripting using Shell, Python, Ansible, or Terraform.

Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)services such as:

• - BigQuery
• - Cloud Functions
• - Dataform
• - Compute Engine

Experience working with AWSservices including:

• - CloudWatch
• - Lambda
• - EKS
• - ELB

Solid understanding of CI/CD practices and tools(e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to complex systems.

Excellent communication skills for effective cross-team collaboration.
