Sunway Berhad's HR Shared Services is seeking a People Data Analyst to support data-driven workforce decisions by analyzing people data, producing reliable reports and dashboards, and delivering insights for HR and business stakeholders.
You will handle data preparation, validation, and governance, while contributing to automation and continuous improvement of analytics processes within HRSSC. Strong Excel, Power BI skills and interest in automation are required.

What’s your job like?
As a People Data Analyst, you will play a critical role to support data-driven workforce decisions by analysing people data, producing reliable reports and dashboards, and generating insights that help HR and business stakeholders understand workforce trends and outcomes.
Data Preparation & Maintenance: Extract, clean, validate, and reconcile people data from HR systems and related sources to ensure accurate, consistent, and timely reports and dashboards across workforce areas such as headcount, attrition, and workforce movements.
Reporting & Visualisation: Develop and maintain HR dashboards and visualisations, ensuring they effectively communicate workforce trends and key insights to HR and business stakeholders.
Analytics & Insights: Analyse workforce trends and generate actionable observations to support decision-making, including ad-hoc analytics requests, benchmarking, and simple predictive assessments.
Process Improvement & Automation: Contribute to the automation of reporting processes, continuous improvement of analytics workflows, and capability building within HRSSC to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Data Governance & Compliance: Ensure proper documentation, adherence to data governance standards, confidentiality, and timely delivery in line with SLAs; support corrective actions for data discrepancies or reporting issues as needed.
Data Literacy & Analytics: The ability to collect, clean, analyse, interpret, and communicate HR data effectively to inform decisions.
Attention to Detail & Governance: High focus on data accuracy, validation, and adherence to data governance and confidentiality standards.
Execution & Organisation: Strong planning, prioritisation, and follow-through to ensure timely delivery of reporting and analytics outputs.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to work effectively with HR, HRSSC, business stakeholders, and IT teams; open to learning and feedback.
Communication & Insight Storytelling: Ability to clearly communicate findings, present data in an understandable way, and provide actionable recommendations.
Proactivity & Team Orientation: Takes initiative, identifies improvement opportunities, and contributes to team objectives.
Resilience & Prioritisation: Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and adapt to changing business needs.
Who are we looking for?
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, HR or other related disciplines.
1–2 years of experience in HR reporting, analytics, or data management preferred (fresh graduates with strong analytical aptitude are welcome).
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong interest in data visualisation tools such as Power BI.
Familiarity with or interest in automation (Power Automate, Python, or RPA tools) and AI-driven solutions.
Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and a structured approach to problem-solving.
Good communication and teamwork skills with a willingness to learn and adapt.
Comfortable working across multiple data systems, HR platforms, and tools.
