Job summary

Sunway Group seeks an experienced finance leader to oversee reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and governance across multiple entities. The role involves coordinating audits, ensuring tax compliance, and driving internal controls while collaborating with banks, auditors, lawyers, and internal teams.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of relevant experience, a professional accounting qualification, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, ACCA, or an equivalent professional qualification.
• 5–7 years of experience in finance or accounting, with property industry experience an added advantage.
• Hands-on experience preparing monthly accounts and financial statements, including cash flow planning and tax filing.
• Experience managing multiple companies or entities concurrently, and liaising with banks, auditors, lawyers, and tax agents.
• Strong understanding of accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements, with proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
• Detail-oriented and results-driven, with strong communication skills and a continuous-learning mindset.

Responsibilities

• Review monthly accounts prepared by the shared services team and resolve discrepancies.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support management decisions.
• Monitor cash flow, manage loan drawdowns and banking relationships.
• Lead preparation of annual financial statements for external audits and tax filings.
• Prepare cash flow projections and financial analyses for financing and investments.
• Strengthen internal controls and reconciliation processes to reduce risk.
• Lead a finance team and collaborate with other departments and partner companies to ensure smooth operations.
• Support governance and regulatory reporting for board meetings.

Job description

Financial Reporting & Oversight — Review monthly accounts prepared by the shared services team, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate, timely reporting in line with accounting standards and company policy.

Budgeting & Performance Analysis — Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasts, monitor financial performance, and analyse variances to support management decision-making.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management — Monitor the company's cash position, plan loan drawdowns and repayments, and manage loan covenants and banking relationships.

Audit & Tax Compliance — Lead preparation of annual financial statements for external audit and ensure timely, accurate tax filings (including SST), liaising directly with auditors and tax agents.

Investment & Financing Support — Prepare cash flow projections and financial analysis to support financing and investment decisions.

Internal Controls — Strengthen internal processes, including account reconciliations, to reduce risk and improve accuracy.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration — Manage and develop the finance team, review their work, and collaborate with other departments and partner companies to ensure smooth operations.

Governance & Regulatory Compliance — Ensure adherence to internal procedures and statutory requirements; support preparation and presentation of financial updates for board meetings.

Key Requirements
