Job summary

Celestica in Penang, Malaysia is seeking a Lead Engineer, Mechanical Design to develop new mechanical systems and manage existing designs. You will conduct research, perform calculations, run simulations, and validate solutions, while supporting manufacturing processes for the designed systems.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, customers, supply chain and project leadership to ensure robust, high-quality product development and incorporate feedback from reviews

Qualifications

• Design, develop and implement technical solutions in two or more technical areas.
• Lead smaller projects and coordinate with other engineers including reviews of their work.
• Review and interpret customer documentation, conduct research and experiments with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement mechanical systems/modules; lead projects and coordinate with engineers.
• Review customer docs; perform analyses, experiments and data-driven decisions.
• Create technical proposals with timelines and required resources.

Education

Bachelor degree or equivalent combination (education + experience)
