Job summary

Randstad Malaysia invites applications for a Pastry Chef/ Application Executive to join our client’s technical application team in Kuala Lumpur. This role suits someone with a strong baking or pastry background seeking a technical path in the food ingredients industry.

You will conduct product application testing, prepare recipes and finished products for demos, perform sensory evaluations, support R&D and QA/QC, maintain lab equipment, assist in demonstrations, and document results.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts, Pastry & Baking, Food Science, Food Technology, or related disciplines.
• Minimum 2 years of bakery, pastry, food manufacturing, or food application testing experience.
• Strong practical knowledge of baking and pastry preparation techniques.
• Hands-on experience in product testing, recipe preparation, and finished product evaluation.
• Exposure to chocolate, margarine, vegetable cream, or other food ingredients would be an added advantage.
• Comfortable working in a laboratory environment and handling technical equipment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to conduct product demonstrations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct product application testing and evaluate the performance of food ingredients in various bakery and pastry applications.
• Prepare recipes, samples, and finished products for testing, evaluation, and demonstrations.
• Perform visual and sensory evaluations to assess product appearance, texture, consistency, and overall quality.
• Support R&D and QA/QC teams in product testing, recipe development, and product improvement initiatives.
• Handle and maintain application laboratory equipment, raw materials, and testing facilities.
• Assist in customer product demonstrations, technical presentations, and application support activities.
• Maintain accurate testing records, documentation, and reports.
• Ensure proper housekeeping, hygiene, and safety standards within the application laboratory.
