NBrand is seeking a Pastry Assistant to join our culinary team in Penang. You will support the Pastry Chef with daily mise en place, ensuring all desserts are prepared and presented beautifully and served on time.

You will help with measuring ingredients, baking, and decorating pastries, while maintaining a clean, organized workstation and adhering to food safety standards. This role emphasizes attention to detail and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Mise En Place: Measure, weigh, and prepare ingredients (flour, sugar, chocolate, fruits, etc.) accurately according to established recipes.
• Baking & Cooking: Assist in mixing doughs, batters, creams, icings, and fillings, and monitor ovens for perfect baking timing.
• Plating & Decoration: Help assemble, frost, and decorate cakes, pastries, and plated desserts with precision and artistic flair.

We are looking for an energetic and detail-oriented Pastry Assistant to join our culinary team. In this role, you will assist the Pastry Chef in preparing high-quality baked goods, desserts, and pastries. Your main focus will be handling daily mise en place (ingredient prep), maintaining station cleanliness, and ensuring all desserts are beautifully presented and served on time.

Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Production

• Mise En Place: Measure, weigh, and prepare ingredients (flour, sugar, chocolate, fruits, etc.) accurately according to established recipes.
• Baking & Cooking: Assist in mixing doughs, batters, creams, icings, and fillings, and monitoring ovens for perfect baking timing.
• Plating & Decoration: Help assemble, frost, and decorate cakes, pastries, and plated desserts with precision and artistic flair.

Kitchen Operations & Maintenance

• Station Hygiene: Maintain an exceptionally clean, organized, and sanitized workstation in compliance with food safety regulations.
• Equipment Care: Safely operate, clean, and maintain specialized pastry equipment such as commercial mixers, ovens, dough sheeters, and scales.
• Dishwashing Support: Clean used bowls, pans, utensils, and tools promptly to keep the workflow moving smoothly.

Inventory & Quality Control

• Stock Rotation: Monitor expiration dates and practice the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) method for all pastry ingredients.
• Quality Inspection: Ensure only fresh ingredients are used and notify supervisors immediately of any low-quality stock or shortages
