Job summary

Servay Evergreen Sdn Bhd in Sabah seeks an Outlet Person-in-Charge (PIC) to oversee daily supermarket/hypermarket operations in Menumbok. You will lead outlet staff, ensure smooth store operations, maintain product availability, and drive sales targets while upholding safety standards.

The role requires 3–5 years in retail operations, supervisory experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and a solid understanding of inventory control, merchandising and customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in retail operations or supermarket/hypermarket settings.
• Supervisory experience leading outlet staff is advantageous.
• Good understanding of store operations, inventory control, merchandising and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily outlet operations to ensure smooth, efficient store performance.
• Lead and motivate staff to achieve sales targets, productivity goals and service standards.
• Monitor sales, expenses, stock levels and inventory movement to improve performance.
• Ensure stock replenishment, accurate pricing, product display and merchandise availability.
• Address stock losses, damages, expiry dates and discrepancies with corrective actions.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, housekeeping, food safety and workplace safety.
• Handle customer complaints promptly and professionally.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with HQ and departments (HR, Purchasing, Accounts, Operations) on outlet matters.
• Monitor staff attendance, schedules, discipline and manpower requirements for coverage.
• Prepare and submit sales and stock reports and other required documentation on time.
• Identify operational issues and propose improvements for efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Job description

As the Outlet Person-in-Charge (PIC) at Servay, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our supermarket/hypermarket outlet in Sabah. You will lead and supervise outlet staff, ensure smooth store operations, maintain product availability, and deliver excellent customer service while achieving sales targets and operational objectives.

What You'll Be Doing

Oversee the daily operations of the outlet to ensure smooth, efficient, and effective store operations.

Lead, supervise, and motivate outlet staff to achieve sales targets, productivity goals, and service standards.

Monitor sales performance, operating expenses, stock levels, and inventory movement to improve outlet performance.

Ensure proper stock replenishment, product display, pricing accuracy, and merchandise availability.

Monitor stock losses, damages, expiry dates, and inventory discrepancies, and take corrective action when necessary.

Ensure the outlet maintains high standards of cleanliness, housekeeping, food safety, and workplace safety.

Handle customer complaints and operational issues promptly and professionally.

Ensure compliance with company policies, standard operating procedures, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

Coordinate with HQ and relevant departments, including HR, Purchasing, Accounts, and Operations, on outlet-related matters.

Monitor staff attendance, work schedules, discipline, and manpower requirements to ensure adequate operational coverage.

Prepare and submit sales reports, stock reports, operational updates, and other required documentation within the stipulated deadlines.

Identify operational issues and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, customer satisfaction, and overall outlet performance.

What We're Looking For

Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in retail operations, preferably in the supermarket or hypermarket industry.

Previous experience in supervising staff or managing a retail outlet is an advantage.

Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.

Good understanding of retail operations, inventory control, merchandising, and customer service.

Ability to monitor sales performance, analyse operational issues, and implement corrective actions.

Good organisational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and work according to retail operating schedules.

Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with retail management systems is an advantage.

Minimum SPM or equivalent qualification; a Diploma in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field is an advantage.
