Job summary

Hong Leong Assurance Berhad in Malaysia seeks a junior software developer to join our IT team. Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 5 years of development experience will contribute to gathering requirements, system analysis, and coding in line with specifications.

You will work with Oracle PL/SQL, Oracle Forms and Reports (D2K), and gain exposure to core life insurance systems within a supportive, quality-driven environment. We offer training, career growth, and a friendly team.

Qualifications

• Fresh graduate or someone with less than 5 years of experience as a developer.
• Nice to have basic knowledge in Oracle PL/SQL as a core competency, Oracle Forms and Reports (D2K).
• Nice to have Knowledge in core life insurance system.

Responsibilities

• Getting information, determining, and understanding of user requirements.
• Perform system study by finding the root cause for reported issues.
• Ensure all user requirements are captured.
• Able to highlight the system impact for the system change.
• Able to interact with users and extracting the requirements out from them.
• Prepare functional specification based on user requirement
• System Design and Development
• Able to propose the system solution based on given user requirements.
• Prepare technical design documents based on functional specification
• Writes the code to implement the design of the proposed solution
• System Integration and Testing
• Perform system integration testing for the changes made.
• Prepare the system test result documents with test case and evidence.
• Ensure the system are fully tested to eliminate any rework
• Ensure system are delivered with highest quality possible and delivered according to the agreed functional specification and design specification.
• User Acceptance, Installation and Deployment
• Prepare the UAT environment deployment request document
• Perform the post-UAT deployment verification, to ensure the deployment completed accordingly.
• Conduct briefing to user for complicated user testing if required
• Follow-up with user to ensure the proper closure of the request
• Perform the post-Production deployment verification, to ensure production deployment completed accordingly.
• Production Batch Support
• To support the user on the production issues.
• Escalate the production issues to the respective party i.e. vendors, Internal departments.
• Provide first-level support to production system users.
• Project
• To budget ensure the projects are delivered within and timeline given.
• Quality and Standard
• Maintaining high work standards, productivity level and deliver quality, as committed under the various company Quality initiatives.
• Ensure unit’s conformance to BNM guidelines and comply with company’s IT policies and procedures.
