Job summary

Hong Leong Assurance Berhad (HLA) is seeking a software professional to build and customize financial system and customer communication management applications. You will develop, configure and support systems, ensuring stability and integration with the broader IT team.

The role requires hands-on coding for web services, Java-based solutions, and database work across MSSQL/Oracle/DB2, with a focus on timely, quality IT services and user support.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of working experience in software development and support.
• Experience developing web services (SOAP) and web APIs.
• Experience with IBM FileNet and workflow.
• Ability to resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Proficient with MSSQL, Oracle, or DB2 databases.
• Experience with scripting (batch scripting) is a plus.

Job description

HLA is looking for a candidate who is capable of building applications and integration services. Your primary role is to develop customization for financial system and customer communication management applications, configure the systems and provide user support. Further, you will have to work smoothly with the entire team working on various levels of management.

You should be able to write the functional code, develop, customize, configure and have the eye to spot problems instantly. Your end goal should be to design, develop and maintain a software system.

Functional

• To analyse requirements and work with users and vendors in enhancing, supporting and customizing applications.
• To involve in system support and deployment of applications.
• To maintain and assist in developing on existing JAVA web services.
• Work with infrastructure team for integration and project related tasks.
• Perform regular housekeeping, maintenance and performance tuning on applications.
• Collaborate with business users, vendors and other team members to provide effective IT services/support and quality deliveries.
• Active involvement in UAT/production support to ensure system availability and stability.
• Other duties as required by the management
