Job summary

Broadcom in Penang seeks an experienced Test Engineer to lead technology transfer of new products to contract manufacturing, support test automation, and drive continuous improvement across multiple engineering disciplines.

The role requires strong C++, Visual Studio, and machine vision skills, plus 5+ years in test engineering within optics/electronics manufacturing. Occasional global travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in test engineering, preferably optics/electronics manufacturing.
• Proficiency in JMP, Visual Studio, and C++.
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving abilities with cross-disciplinary teamwork.
• Familiarity with automation, machine vision, motion control, and test instrumentation.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to Broadcom sites worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Technology Transfer & Documentation: transfer new products and test setups to CM plants with comprehensive documentation.
• Engineering Change Management: support testing and evaluation across all test engineering processes.
• Cross-Functional Problem Solving: drive root-cause analysis and preventive actions with global teams.
• Test Optimization & Innovation: enhance production test effectiveness and implement new test methodologies.
• Automation & Equipment Management: collaborate with robotic handling and machine vision systems.
• Supplier Collaboration: qualify and release bar-test systems with suppliers.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: analyze data and present findings to design teams.
• Database Management: assist in structuring databases for characterization data.
• General Support: perform ad-hoc duties and projects as needed.
