Job summary

AmBank Group in Malaysia seeks a senior product lead to partner with the Head of Products, driving the Business Banking OPEX agenda, and delivering product-related initiatives across the lending portfolio.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, develop business cases, and ensure timely delivery of strategic priorities, balancing customer value, risk, and operational efficiency. The role demands strong stakeholder influence and execution discipline.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in Business Banking, SME Banking, Commercial Banking, Retail Lending or related financial services roles.
• Strong knowledge of lending products, credit assessment, and credit program structures.
• Proven ability to drive cross-functional initiatives and manage stakeholders across business, credit, operations, risk, compliance, and technology teams.
• Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate ideas into actionable outcomes.
• Proactive, self-driven, and capable of independently managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product Leads to drive the product agenda, focusing on OPEX, lending product enhancements, and credit program development.
• Lead as execution owner for OPEX product initiatives, ensuring timely assessment, prioritisation, and delivery.
• Identify, evaluate, and recommend new products, processes, and credit program improvements to enhance customer experience and portfolio growth.
• Support development and enhancement of lending products, credit programs, financing propositions, and customer value propositions.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of initiatives including business case development, requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, planning, execution, and post-implementation review.
• Collaborate with Business, Credit, Risk, Operations, Compliance, Technology, and PMO teams to drive alignment and resolve challenges.
• Establish governance across initiatives by monitoring plans, milestones, risks, issues, and actions; provide updates to management.
• Analyse portfolio performance, customer insights, market developments, and operational metrics to identify trends and improvements.
• Prepare business cases, management papers, and steering committee updates to support governance and decisions.
• Serve as subject matter expert for lending products and credit programs, guiding strategic initiatives.
• Undertake ad hoc projects and special assignments as directed.
