Job summary

A local flour production facility is seeking a dedicated Operations Worker to manage the handling, packing, and loading of animal feed and raw materials. Key responsibilities include operating packing machinery, ensuring quality and efficiency in production, and maintaining safety standards. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of an SPM or equivalent, basic literacy skills, and familiarity with packing machinery. Applicants with vocational training in manufacturing will be preferred. A strong commitment to workplace safety is essential.

Job description

Responsible for handling, packing, loading, and unloading of animal feed and raw materials in accordance with production requirements and safety standards. The role ensures smooth operation of packing equipment, accurate labelling, and proper handling of both raw and finished products to maintain quality and efficiency throughout the feed production process.

Job Responsibilities
  • Unload and load raw materials safely and efficiently from lorries and containers, whether bagged, palletized, or in bulk form.
  • Operate packing machines and auto-packers to pack finished animal feed into 25 kg, 50 kg, or Jumbo bags, ensuring all products are accurately weighed, properly sealed, and correctly labeled.
  • Recycle feed products by repacking or dumping them as required, in compliance with quality and production guidelines.
  • Handle raw materials by dumping into hoppers, repacking from Jumbo bags into 25 kg or 50 kg bags and loading or unloading into bulk containers or silos according to procedures.
  • Perform special operations by dumping feed into bulk tankers during machine breakdowns and packing wheat grain into Jumbo bags as per specifications.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment by following safety protocols, wearing proper PPE, adhering to regulations, and promptly reporting any equipment, material, or quality issues.
Education & Qualification
  • Minimum SPM / High School Certificate or equivalent.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills to read instructions, weigh materials, and record data.
  • Additional technical or vocational training in manufacturing or mechanical operations is an advantage.
Technical Skills & Professional Knowledge
  • Familiarity with packing machinery, conveyors, and weighing systems.
  • Basic understanding of raw material handling, feed safety, and quality control.
  • Knowledge of safety and housekeeping procedures in an industrial setting.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or pallet jacks (license preferred).
  • Basic computer literacy for inputting production data and recording operations.
  • Ability to work in team-oriented, fast-paced production environments.
  • Able to make and assess personal/team decisions and align actions with organisation’s vision and mission.
  • Able to establish and maintain open/trusting relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to nurture collaborative partnerships and work towards a common goal.
