Operations Manager / Assistant General Manager
Alliance Precast Industries – Rawang, Selangor
The Operations Manager / Assistant General Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the overall operations of 7 precast concrete manufacturing plants within the group. The role ensures production efficiency, quality compliance, maintenance reliability, manpower effectiveness and cost control across all sites.
This position plays a critical leadership role in driving operational excellence, standardisation and continuous improvement across multi-site manufacturing operations. The incumbent must have strong hands-on experience in precast concrete production and the ability to lead large operational teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management & Performance
- Ensure production of quality products that comply with company quality systems and statutory requirements;
- Drive production efficiency, productivity, and output to meet set targets and KPIs;
- Monitor and improve key production parameters including cycle time, efficiency and yield;
- Reduce process defects, downtime and production disruptions;
- Ensure optimal utilisation of manpower, machine, material and methods.
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Monitor and review Monthly Master Production Plan based on customer orders and planning requirements;
- Monitor and review production activities to ensure timely delivery;
- Monitor and review material planning and production analysis to support operational readiness;
- Align production schedules with plant capacity and customer requirements;
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with occupational safety, health, environmental and quality standards;
- Promote a strong safety culture across all production operations;
- Lead investigations on safety incidents, equipment failures and operational disruptions;
- Ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and implement cost-effective production practices to minimise manufacturing cost without compromising quality;
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce waste and enhance productivity;
- Monitor and review daily and weekly production performance and implement corrective actions.
Maintenance & Equipment Reliability
- Oversee preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities across plants;
- Ensure maintenance schedules are effectively executed to minimise downtime;
- Monitor and control maintenance spare parts inventory for cost efficiency and availability;
- Coordinate maintenance planning with production schedules to maximise equipment reliability.
Mould & Asset Management
- Plan and coordinate mould requirements and maintenance schedules based on production needs;
- Ensure mould readiness, optimal utilisation, and minimal production disruption.
Cross-Functional & Multi-Site Coordination
- Coordinate closely with Production Planning, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance and Supply Chain teams;
- Ensure smooth execution of production plans across all factories;
- Collaborate with other factory heads to achieve group operational objectives;
- Ensure consistent operational standards across all 7 plants.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Construction Management, or any related technical discipline;
- Min 10 years of progressive experience in operations, production, or manufacturing management roles;
- Proven track record in multi-site manufacturing operations management is mandatory;
- Strong hands-on experience in construction-related manufacturing or industrial sectors, preferably:
- § Quarry operations
- § Construction or site-based operations
- § Cement, building materials, or related manufacturing
- § Other heavy manufacturing or industrial production environments
- Demonstrated experience in leading production teams, driving operational efficiency, and achieving production targets.
Skills
- Strong capability in multi-site operations management with ability to standardise and control process across multiple plants;
- Solid understanding of production planning, scheduling and production control systems;
- Strong knowledge of QAQC systems, quality compliance and process improvement methodologies;
- Experience in supply chain coordination and materials planning to support uninterrupted production flow
- Strong cost control mindset with proven ability to drive operational efficiency and waste reduction;
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with experience managing large operational teams;
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with ability to make data-driven operational decisions;
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, including coordination across departments and senior management;
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure manufacturing environment with tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
