We are seeking a strategic, results-driven Operations Manager to lead our manufacturing operations in Malaysia. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee end-to-end plant operations—spanning production, quality assurance, supply chain, and engineering support.

Your objective is to drive operational excellence, optimize cost efficiencies, ensure strict adherence to high-precision quality standards, and foster a culture of continuous improvement aligned with the organization’s strategic growth goals.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

1. Operations & Production Management

Direct and optimize daily manufacturing operations to ensure production schedules are met efficiently, cost-effectively, and in strict alignment with rigorous precision specifications and quality requirements.

Coordinate, manage, and monitor cross-functional departments, including Production, Quality Assurance (QA), Laboratory, PPIC (Planning & Production Inventory Control), Purchasing, Stores.

Implement robust inventory control mechanisms to minimize carrying costs while preventing production bottlenecks.

Responsible for monitoring and analyzing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) across production operations, identifying performance gaps in machine availability, production efficiency, and quality. Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with Production, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to minimize downtime, optimize machine utilization, and achieve established OEE targets.

2. Financial & Budgetary Control

Prepare, manage, and control monthly operational budgets, capital expenditure (CapEx), and resource forecasting.

Drive financial performance through variance analysis, cost reduction initiatives, and productivity tracking.

3. Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

Spearhead timely resolution for internal, supplier, process, and customer-related quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.

Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process yields and eliminate waste.

4. Safety, Health, & Compliance

Ensure full compliance with local statutory regulations, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and environmental health and safety (EHS) standards.

Maintain a safe, secure, and organized shop floor environment.

5. Leadership & Strategy

Collaborate with senior management to refine operational processes, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in support of organizational goals.

Mentor, develop, and lead department heads and supervisors to build a high-performing, accountable workforce.

Undertake other ad-hoc management tasks or projects assigned by top management.

Job Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical discipline.

Experience:

Minimum of 10 yearsof progressive operational experience within the precision engineering, machining, or high-tech manufacturing industry, with at least 5 years in a senior managerial or leadership capacity.

Technical & Professional Skills:

Strong mastery of precision manufacturing processes, CNC machining environments, QA/QC standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, OSHAS 18000, IATF 16949).

Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, and 8D problem-solving techniques.

With experience in budget preparation and inventory management.

Exceptional leadership, communication, and analytical problem-solving skills.
