Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a Director of Machining in Malaysia to lead the machining business across CNC, milling, turning/lathe, and multi-axis operations. You will own P&L, drive Lean improvements, and build a capable leadership team to scale performance and profitability.

The role involves leading NPI and manufacturing transfers from the US to Malaysia, shaping technology, automation and capacity plans, and partnering with global teams to meet customer objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of precision machining/manufacturing leadership experience.
• Strong technical expertise in CNC, milling, turning/lathe, tooling, fixturing and precision machining.
• Experience leading machining/manufacturing with P&L/financial ownership.
• NPI, industrialization, capacity expansion and international transfers experience.

Lead and transform the machining business in Malaysia, driving strategy, operational performance and profitable growth. Provide technical leadership across CNC machining, milling, turning/lathe, multi-axis machining, tooling, fixturing and process optimization.

Key responsibilities

Own business performance including P&L, cost, productivity, capacity, quality and delivery

Build a strong technical leadership team and develop the talent and capabilities needed to scale the business

Lead NPI and manufacturing transfers from the US to Malaysia, from process development and qualification through production ramp-up

Develop the technology, automation, capital investment and capacity roadmap to support future growth and manufacturing competitiveness

Partner with global Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain and Program teams to deliver business and customer objectives

Challenge existing processes and drive Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement and operational excellence

About you

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline

10+ years of experience in precision machining / manufacturing, with leadership responsibility

Strong technical expertise in CNC, milling, turning/lathe, tooling, fixturing and precision machining

Proven experience leading a machining or manufacturing business with P&L / financial ownership

Strong track record in NPI, industrialization, capacity expansion and international manufacturing transfers

Experience in semiconductor, aerospace, precision engineering, industrial or other high-precision manufacturing environments is preferred

Strong commercial mindset with the ability to translate technical decisions into business growth, cost competitiveness and investment returns
