Foresight Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd in Penang seeks an experienced Operations Manager to lead the Machining Division, drive efficiency, and optimize throughput across multiple work centers.
You will partner with Production Control, Supply Chain, Warehouse and Logistics to ensure timely delivery, maintain quality, safety, and cost standards while building high-performing teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Machining Division, overseeing daily operations, production performance, and workflow across multiple machining work centers. The role focuses on driving operational efficiency, productivity, capacity utilization, quality, and team performance within a high-mix, high-volume manufacturing environment.
The Operations Manager will lead machining operations and work closely with Production Control, Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Logistics to ensure smooth material and production flow, timely delivery, and achievement of operational targets while maintaining quality, safety, and cost standards.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field.
8–12 years of hands-on manufacturing operations experience, preferably in a high-mix, high-volume manufacturing environment.
Proven experience managing or coordinating teams across Production, Production Control, Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Logistics.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, work center efficiency, capacity planning, and process optimization.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to develop teams, drive accountability, and achieve operational targets.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, and execution skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic manufacturing environment.
Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence is highly desirable.
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the Machining Division, including CNC machining activities, production floor operations, manpower deployment, production output, and overall workflow.
Execute production plans and ensure production targets are achieved according to schedule, quality, productivity, and cost requirements.
Monitor daily production performance, machine utilization, manpower efficiency, capacity, and output across machining work centers.
Manage and coordinate cross-functional activities with Production Control, Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Logistics to ensure smooth material flow and timely production delivery.
Identify production bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and process inefficiencies, and implement improvement actions to enhance efficiency, productivity, and throughput.
Monitor and report key operational KPIs, including OEE, production output, first-pass yield, labor productivity, machine utilization, and on-time delivery.
Drive Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and operational excellence initiatives in alignment with the Operations Director’s strategy.
Lead, develop, and coach supervisors and team leaders to build high-performing, accountable, and results-oriented teams.
Ensure proper implementation and compliance with SOPs, work instructions, quality requirements, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Monitor and manage operational issues on the production floor, ensuring timely resolution and escalation of critical issues when required.
Provide regular production and operational performance updates, analysis, and recommendations to the Operations Director to support decision-making and operational planning.
