Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is seeking a Field Service Engineer for a global semiconductor manufacturer based in Taiwan. You will deliver on-site technical support, installations, and optimization at customer sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronic Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Strong verbal and written English; Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage to liaise with local teams and clients.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze technical diagnostic data to determine root-cause solutions with cross-functional teams.
• Document and package detailed technical information (pass-downs, work orders, service reports) for escalation and handover to 2nd-line support teams.
• Carry out on-site hardware installation, damage inspection, mechanical/electrical assembly, calibration, and acceptance testing for advanced equipment.
• Execute hardware and software setup, recovery, and component swaps per scheduled project plans, providing real-time feedback to optimize cycle times.
• Coordinate tooling, parts, and technical procedures ahead of scheduled customer machine maintenance windows to ensure smooth execution.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and gaps, reporting actionable improvement opportunities to key stakeholders.
• Guide end-users on corrective measures, deliver structured operational and maintenance training, and recommend best practices to enhance system reliability.
