Job summary

Gamuda Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a Safety & Health Officer to implement and maintain safety and health programs. You will conduct inspections, investigate incidents, develop training, and ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations.

The role requires coordinating with multiple departments to foster a safety-conscious culture. The position involves reviewing contractor HIAROC and JSA, supporting audits, and liaising with external authorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health, or a related field.
• Must be certified as SHO by DOSH with valid Green Book.
• Certifications such as CSP or OHST are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor contractor safety and health management and ensure compliance with TC SHE requirements.
• Conduct routine site inspections to identify hazards and enforce corrective actions.
• Assist with internal and external audits and liaise with authorities.
• Coordinate with PMD and contractors to perform HIAROC and review HIAROC & JSA per method statements.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs and promote a safety culture.

Company description

SRS TC Sdn Bhd, engaged by the Project Developer (PD), is responsible for the reclamation works of Silicon Island. To date, the company has awarded the Phase 1 design-and-build reclamation contract to Gamuda Engineering Sdn Bhd (GESB).

SRS TC is also responsible for delivering common infrastructure and the Pan Island Link 2A (PIL2A), alongside the implementation of Smart City initiatives. The scope further includes landscaping works, coastal parks, gardens, beaches, waterways, mangrove habitats, bicycle and pedestrian networks.

In addition, SRS TC shall call for tenders to award all other construction works within the scope of works to the best-evaluated tenderer. It oversees the implementation of all measures under the Environmental Management Plan, while supervising contractors to ensure compliance with the Environmental Impact Assessment approval conditions and other relevant environmental requirements.

Job Summary

The Safety & Health Officer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining safety and health programs to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. This role involves conducting safety inspections, investigating accidents and incidents, developing safety training programs, and ensuring compliance with relevant safety regulations. The Officer will work closely with various departments to promote a safety-conscious culture and prevent workplace hazards.

Key Responsibilities

• 1. Monitor the contractor's safety and health management, ensure contractor adhere with legal and TC
  SHE requirement.
• 2. Conduct routine site inspection to identify hazards and enforce corrective actions.
• 3. Advise TC to facilitating internal and external audits as required.
• 4. Supervise, guide and coordinate the activities of Site Safety Supervisor.
• 5. Collaborate with PMD team and contractor to perform HIAROC
• 6. Review contractor's HIAROC & JSA according to method statement.
• 7. Involve in contractor's incident management
• 8. Review contractor report and provide accurate records of HSE data, incident and compliance (NOI,
  NOP etc).
• 9. Assisting in developing and delivering HSE training program to TC and contractor if required.
• 10. Member of HSE campaign to promote safety culture among employees through regular
  communication and awareness programs.
• 11. Assist to liaise with external authorities such as CIDB, DOSH and local authority.
• 12. Act as the TC primary point of contract during safety inspection and audit conducted by authorities.
• 13. Coordination with Environmental team to assist in environmental compliance on-site
• 14. Interface and coordinate among contractors in site safety compliance.
• 15. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the management.
• 16. To comply and adhere to all matters pertaining to Quality, Safety & Health and Environment related
  to the job scope and work place as required by the company

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health, or a related field.

• Must be certified as SHO by DOSH with valid Green Book.

• Relevant safety certifications, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST), are preferred.
