Job summary
Idealseed Resources Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Shipping Manager to oversee ocean freight procurement, carrier relations, and cost optimization within a dynamic logistics environment.
The role focuses on hands-on procurement, tender management and performance monitoring to ensure efficient, compliant shipments across multiple trade lanes.
A minimum of 5 years in ocean freight procurement and direct experience with shipping lines or NVOCCs is highly preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in shipping, ocean freight, or logistics.
- Hands-on ocean freight procurement experience essential.
- Experience managing relationships with shipping lines, freight forwarders or NVOCCs preferred.
- Strong negotiation, analytical and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Oversee ocean freight procurement activities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with shipping lines, carriers, freight forwarders and partners.
- Negotiate freight rates, contracts, terms and capacity.
- Monitor market rates, capacity, surcharges and trends for cost savings.
- Evaluate and select shipping lines and logistics providers.
- Manage RFQs, tenders and rate negotiations.
- Monitor shipping performance and service quality.
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Warehouse, Finance and Customer Service.
