Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding in Subang Jaya is seeking an Ocean Freight Operational Accounting Specialist to support financial closing, monitor operational KPIs, and partner with Operations and Finance teams to drive process excellence. Located in USJ, Selangor, the role requires 2+ years in freight/logistics finance and strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities include issue resolution, cost control, documentation, and training support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Logistics, Transportation, Finance, Accounting and/or Business Studies with minor in logistics and supply chain.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Freight Forwarding, Logistics, Operational Finance, Accounting, or related functions especially in Ocean Freight.
• Understanding of accounting principles, financial reconciliation and operational finance processes.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with transportation or freight forwarding systems (e.g., CargoWise One, CW1) is an advantage.

• Monitor operational accounting KPIs, including revenue leakage, unbilled files, billing timeliness, loss-making files and accrual performance.
• Identify root causes of operational accounting issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analyze and resolve customer and vendor disputes while collaborating with Operations, Finance and business stakeholders.
• Monitor vendor cost controls and support actions to prevent gross profit leakage.
• Partner with country, regional and global teams to maximize file-level profitability.
• Maintain process documentation and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
• Support onboarding, knowledge sharing and training activities within the team.
