Responsibilities

About the Client

Our client is an established International Freight Forwarding organization with a strong global presence and continuous local expansion in Malaysia. Driven by a culture of innovation and high performance, they are looking for a proactive and experienced Senior Accountant to take ownership of their finance operations and support strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Full Spectrum Accounting: Oversee end-to-end accounting operations, including AP, AR, GL, fixed assets, inventory, and intercompany transactions.
• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Perform balance sheet reconciliations, conduct financial analysis, and ensure all entries comply with financial and regulatory standards.
• Month-End Closing: Lead the month-end close process accurately and within tight deadlines.
• Taxation & Compliance: Handle quarterly SST submissions, ensure strict compliance with SST and Withholding Tax (WHT) regulations, and oversee statutory filings.
• Audit & Tax Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and tax agents; prepare audit-ready working papers and draft financial statements.
• Process Improvement: Standardize accounting SOPs, champion best practices to enhance operational efficiency, and assist the Finance Manager with ad-hoc projects.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience (including supervisory duties), ideally within the freight forwarding or logistics sector.
• Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Technical Mastery: Solid grasp of SST and WHT regulations. High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and PowerPoint. Quick adaptability to new ERP/accounting software.
• Soft Skills: Self-driven, independent worker with strong multi-tasking skills. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and regional stakeholders under tight deadlines.
