Job summary

Nurture Mind Development in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur is seeking an Occupational Therapist to evaluate patients' physical, cognitive, emotional, and environmental needs and develop individualized treatment plans to improve independence and quality of life.

The therapist will work with patients to enhance daily living skills such as dressing, eating, bathing, and participation in school or community life, while collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other professionals.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Valid Occupational Therapist license or registration.
• CPR/BLS certification (if required).
• Clinical experience in hospitals, rehabilitation centres, schools, or outpatient settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' physical, cognitive, sensory, and psychosocial abilities.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
• Provide therapeutic interventions to improve daily living, motor, cognitive, and functional skills.
• Teach patients and caregivers techniques for safe and independent functioning.
• Recommend and train patients in the use of adaptive equipment and assistive technology.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and injury prevention.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, ethical standards, and organizational policies.
