Job summary

Apeiro Networks Sdn Bhd is seeking a Network Engineer in Malaysia to support the deployment, operation and maintenance of telecommunications and data centre networking infrastructure.

You will gain hands-on experience with DWDM, Metro Ethernet, routers, switches, firewalls and Linux, while collaborating with senior engineers and participating in 24x7 on-call rotations. Fresh graduates are welcome; diploma or bachelor in engineering or IT is preferred, with willingness to travel to customer sites.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, IT or related networking field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in technical support or network project implementation.
• Hands-on experience with DWDM, Metro Ethernet, switches and related networking gear.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and data centres.

Responsibilities

• Design, install and commission equipment for telecommunication, enterprise, data centre market including DWDM, metro ethernet, routers, switches, firewalls, servers, fibre optics and etc.
• Perform first-level troubleshooting of network incidents and service disruptions (24 x 7 on rotation shift).
• Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers when necessary and liaise with Product Manufacturers on Level 3 Support.
• Support routine maintenance activities and scheduled network upgrades.
• Maintain network diagrams and technical documentation, including acceptance document.
• Record configuration changes and maintenance activities.
• Participate in technical training and certification programs.
• Develop knowledge of telecommunications and data centre technologies.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Network Engineer to support the deployment, operation, and maintenance of telecommunications and data centre networking infrastructure. This role provides excellent opportunities to develop technical expertise in enterprise networking, service provider networks, and data centre technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, install and commission equipment for telecommunication, enterprise, data centre market including DWDM, metro ethernet, routers, switches, firewalls, servers, fibre optics and etc.

Perform first-level troubleshooting of network incidents and service disruptions (24 x 7 on rotation shift).

Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers when necessary and liaise with Product Manufacturers on Level 3 Support.

Support routine maintenance activities and scheduled network upgrades.

Qualifications & Skills Required

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or IT or other related technical discipline that relate to networking and telecommunication.

Minimum 1 year of experience in technical support and/or network project implementation.

Hands-on experience installing and operating DWDM, Metro Ethernet, Switches, Linux operating system and other networking products. Otherwise, training will be provided.

Knowledge and experience on handling power supply systems in data centre would be advantage.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with ability to handle and resolve technical issues.

Willingness to learn new technologies, positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Ability to work independently while at the same time maintaining strong team work.

Willing to work outside normal business hours when required for maintenance activities and perform standby on rotation basis for maintenance activities.

Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Possess a valid driving license and own vehicle.

Willing to travel to customer sites and data centres.
