Job summary

AERUMA GROUP SDN BHD in Malaysia is seeking a Network Engineer to build and maintain secure connectivity for business clients. You will design, install, configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, wireless and voice solutions, ensuring high availability and performance.

You will monitor networks, perform preventive maintenance, prepare clear service reports, and provide level-1 and level-2 troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Degree or higher in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 1 year hands-on experience as Network Engineer focusing on routing, switching and firewall.
• Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia, English; Mandarin required for Mandarin-speaking clients.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain and support routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, voice and other network appliances.
• Monitor network performance and availability, perform preventive maintenance and prepare service reports.
• Provide level-1 and level-2 troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve hardware, software and connectivity issues, escalating when required.

• You will install, configure, maintain and support customer routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, voice and other network appliances.
• You will monitor network performance and availability, perform preventive maintenance and prepare clear service reports.
• You will provide level-1 and level-2 troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve hardware, software and connectivity issues, escalating when required.

• You will contribute to network implementations, migrations and upgrades and support project deployment and delivery activities.
• You will configure equipment, update IT documentation and report status to ensure smooth handovers and accurate records.
• You will deliver onsite and remote technical support, manage tickets and work to meet customer SLAs with prompt, clear communication.
• You will assist the Sales Team with technical inquiries and solution recommendations and carry out ad-hoc duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Degree, Professional Certificate or Master Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer/Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year hands-on experience as a Network Engineer focusing on routing, switching and firewall, or in a similar network support role.
• Languages: Bahasa Malaysia and English; proficiency in Mandarin is required to communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

Hard Skills & Knowledge

• Working knowledge of networking protocols and technologies across routing, switching, firewall and wireless domains.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, wireless and voice systems in customer environments.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems, network monitoring tools, SLA tracking and preventive maintenance processes.
• Professional certifications such as CCNA, NSE or HCIA are an added advantage.

Soft Skills & Qualities

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, customer-oriented with a positive attitude.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team, manage time effectively and perform under pressure.
• Willing to travel for onsite support when required; own transport and a valid driving license preferred.
