Job summary

Frencken IMS in Malaysia is seeking a skilled Mould Design Engineer to join our manufacturing team. You will design and optimize 2D and 3D moulds for injection moulding, using Unigraphics, SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

You will run DFM and Moldflow simulations, refine cooling and gating, and work with customers, suppliers and tooling vendors to ensure manufacturability and quality. A diploma/degree in mechanical engineering and 2–5 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of mould design experience, preferably injection moulding.
• Proficient in CAD software: Unigraphics, SolidWorks, AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of mould flow simulation software is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of plastic materials, cooling systems, and gating techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop 2D & 3D mould layouts and drawings using CAD software (Unigraphics).
• Create DFM and Moldflow simulations to meet customer requirements.
• Design cooling systems and gating for optimal mould performance.
• Perform feasibility studies and design analysis to optimize part quality.
• Collaborate with engineering and tooling teams for manufacturability and cost efficiency.
• Support DFMEA with lessons learned for new projects.
• Coordinate with customers, suppliers and tooling vendors for mould fabrication and validation.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and quality guidelines.
