Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking a multi-skilled Process/Equipment Technician to join our Malaysia operations. The role requires hands-on adjustment of machine settings, monitoring yields, and rapid problem-solving during shifts at our Ipoh site.

You will be involved in process qualification, DOE experiments, operator training, and daily reporting. The ideal candidate holds a Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical technology with experience in electronics/semiconductor manufacturing and SPC/GPR tools, and is

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical technology.
• Experience in electronics/semiconductor manufacturing as process technician or equipment technician.
• Familiarity with SPC and 7QC tools and quality control methods.

Responsibilities

• Understand all machine/process parameter settings and controls to optimize yield.
• Monitor yield and fix process issues within the shift.
• Monitor SPC charts and perform corrections on out-of-control parameters.
• Machine/process buy-off and qualification; perform shear test/golden units testing, GR&R, and correlation.
• Train/qualify operators with work instructions and inspection criteria.
• Carry out experiments/DOE as directed by Engineers.
• Verify rejects and perform quick machine corrections to resolve issues.
• Prepare and send out shift reports.

• Understand all machine/process parameter settings and controls. Set-up and optimize machine settings to get best yield.

• Train/qualify operators with work instruction, procedures, visual/mechanical inspection criteria.
• Carry out experiments/DOE as instructed by Engineers.
• Verify rejects and do quick process/machine correction to fix the problem.

• Send out shiftly report.

Education & Experience

• Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical technology.

• Experience in electronics/semiconductor manufacturing as process technician or equipment technician.

Skills

• Knows Microsoft office: Excel, PPT, Word.
• Machine hands on/trouble shooting.

• SPC and 7QC Tools.

Working Conditions

• This role is 100% onsite.

• Will be assigned to either 3 shift pattern (Q,R,S)
