Job summary

Talent Trader Group in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Buyer & Planner to manage regional procurement and inventory planning. You will review daily purchasing reports, forecast demand, and create purchase orders within approved limits.

• 3-5 years regional purchasing/procurement and inventory planning experience, preferably with prior experience working in a MNC environment.

Responsibilities

• Review daily purchasing reports and system recommendations to determine order quantities and items.
• Create and authorize purchase orders within assigned limits.
• Execute stock replenishment, special orders, and drop shipments based on cost-effective methods.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure availability while optimizing working capital.
• Forecast customer demand based on sales trends, inventory levels, and business requirements to ensure timely product availability.
• Plan and execute purchase orders with suppliers in accordance with customer demand forecasts and inventory replenishment strategies.
• Ensure accuracy of purchase order details, pricing, terms, and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate order transmissions via EDI and other communication channels.
• Track order status, expedite deliveries, and resolve shipping discrepancies.
• Communicate delivery updates and issues to relevant internal stakeholders.
• Review excess and inactive inventory reports and liaise with suppliers for returns where applicable.
• Support supplier performance evaluation (e.g., on-time delivery, fill rate, service levels).
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
• Ad hoc duties as assigned.
