Job summary

ams OSRAM in Kulim, Malaysia, seeks a Metrology Equipment Engineer to calibrate and maintain measurement systems, support recipe optimization, and drive reliability across the Metro line.

You will troubleshoot advanced metrology tools (KLA/Unity/Onto) and CD/OVL/Bow/Roughness/Zeta measurements, while upholding 5S and safety standards. English/Malay fluency is required.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in electronic, Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, Automation or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform, calibrate, and maintain measurement tools to ensure accuracy and traceability.
• Provide line support for recipe creation/optimization, equipment setup, recovery & corrective maintenance to meet KPIs defined in the Metro department.
• Advance machine troubleshooting for Metro tools and processes; knowledge of Defect Scanning and Measurement tools is required.
• Ensure compliance to 5S, Cleanroom and Safety Protocols.
• Maintain inventory of critical equipment spare parts to minimize downtime and support cost control.
• Develop equipment training programs to uplift maintenance skills among associate engineers and technicians.
• Participate in troubleshooting and quality improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and production outcomes.

Description:

• Responsible to perform, calibrate, and maintain measurement tools to ensure accuracy and traceability.
• Provide line support for recipe creation/optimization, equipment setup, recovery & corrective maintenance to meet KPIs defined in the Metro department. Evaluate and improve maintenance controls and procedures to maximize equipment reliability and lifespan.
• Able to perform advance machine troubleshooting. Knowledge on Metro tools such as Defect Scanning (KLA/Unity/Onto) tools and Measurement (CD/OVL/Bow/Roughness/Zeta) tools is a must.
• Ensure the compliance to 5S, Cleanroom & Safety Protocol. Support the new tools setup, installation & qualification.
• Maintain an inventory of critical equipment spare parts to minimize downtime and ensure the availability of necessary components. Identify opportunities to reduce costs related to equipment parts, maintenance, and operations while maintaining high-quality standards. Mitigate risk capacity and capability bottleneck.
• Develop good equipment training program to bring up good maintenance skill among associate engineers and technicians.
• Participate in troubleshooting and quality improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and production outcomes. Support process team (upstream/downstream) for evaluation & process verification.

Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree in electronic, Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, Automation or equivalent.
• At least with at least 3 years of hands‑on experience in FOL metrology tools such as Defect Scanning (KLA/Unity/Onto) Tools and Measurement (CD/OVL/Bow/Roughness/Zeta) Tools.
• Professional Knowledge in Metrology Process and Equipment.
• Good interpersonal skills, responsible and able to handle stress- Advance.
• Fluent in English/Malay language (verbal & writing).
