Job summary

ams OSRAM in Malaysia is seeking an experienced engineer to maintain and calibrate MET tools used in precision metrology. You will support recipe creation, equipment setup, and advanced troubleshooting to meet KPIs defined in the Metro department.

The role requires hands-on experience with Defect Scanning and Measurement tools, strong metrology knowledge, and adherence to 5S and cleanroom safety protocols. Opportunities to train engineers and optimize processes exist.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 3+ years hands-on experience with FOL metrology tools (Defect Scanning, Measurement).
• Proficient in metrology processes and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform, calibrate, and maintain measurement tools for accuracy and traceability.
• Provide line support for recipe creation/optimization and equipment setup.
• Evaluate and improve maintenance controls to maximize reliability and lifespan.
• Conduct advanced machine troubleshooting for Metro tools.
• Ensure compliance to 5S, cleanroom and safety protocols.
• Support new tool setup, installation and qualification.
• Maintain inventory of critical spare parts to minimize downtime.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities in parts and maintenance.
• Develop equipment training programs for associates.
• Participate in troubleshooting and quality improvement projects.

Job description

Responsible to perform, calibrate, and maintain measurement tools to ensure accuracy and traceability.

Provide line support for recipe creation/optimization, equipment setup, recovery & corrective maintenance to meet KPIs defined in the Metro department.

Evaluate and improve maintenance controls and procedures to maximize equipment reliability and lifespan.

Able to perform advance machine troubleshooting. Knowledge on Metro tools such as Defect Scanning (KLA/Unity/Onto) tools and Measurement (CD/OVL/Bow/Roughness/Zeta) tools is a must.

Ensure the compliance to 5S, Cleanroom & Safety Protocol.

Support the new tools setup, installation & qualification.

Maintain an inventory of critical equipment spare parts to minimize downtime and ensure the availability of necessary components.

Identify opportunities to reduce costs related to equipment parts, maintenance, and operations while maintaining high-quality standards.

Mitigate risk capacity and capability bottleneck.

Develop good equipment training program to bring up good maintenance skill among associate engineers and technicians.

Participate in troubleshooting and quality improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and production outcomes.

Support process team (upstream/downstream) for evaluation & process verification.

Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in electronic, Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, Automation or equivalent.

At least with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in FOL metrology tools such as Defect Scanning (KLA/Unity/Onto) Tools and Measurement (CD/OVL/Bow/Roughness/Zeta) Tools.

Professional Knowledge in Metrology Process and Equipment.

Good interpersonal skills, responsible and able to handle stress- Advance.
