Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a metrology specialist to coordinate technicians and oversee daily measurement and verification activities. You will operate and program CMM equipment to define checking methods for current and upcoming projects, while guiding junior staff on technical functions.

The role requires hands-on CMM experience, GD&T interpretation, and SPC data analysis. Familiarity with ISO quality systems and medical device context is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate a group of technicians to complete daily measurement and verification
• Operate and program CMM to develop checking methods for existing and new projects
• Provide guidance and training on technical functions
• Prepare dimensional verification for first articles and retained finished products
• Participate in mold evaluation to gather full dimensional, SPC, and CpK data
• Report non-conformances to Quality and Production teams
• Generate rework orders and oversee re-inspection after rework
• Troubleshoot inspection-related issues
• Manage and execute projects assigned by supervisor

Coordinate a group of technicians to complete daily product measurement and verification

Hands on measuring equipment and handling Coordinate Measuring Machine Program, to create checking method for existing and new project

Provide guidance and training for subordinate on technical and related functions

Prepare or carry-out dimensional verification on first article product and completed measured product shall be retained for future references

Participate in mold evaluation activity to obtain the product full dimensional, SPC and Cpk data

Feedback to Quality personnel, Production Supervisor/Line Leader when there is a detection of non-conforming on part dimensional data

Generate rework order request to Production to carry out necessary action and carry-out re-inspection process after Rework and Sorting process completed

Troubleshooting any inspection related issues

Manage and execute projects assigned by superior

Job Requirements:

Diploma / Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related field.

Minimum 3 years of experience in metrology, dimensional inspection or measurement environment.

Hands-on experience in CMM operation and programming (Hexagon CMM preferred).

Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.

Good knowledge of SPC, dimensional data analysis and measurement reporting.

Familiar with: CMM machine / Caliper / Micrometer / Thread Gauge / Vision Measurement System

Familiar with ISO 13485, ISO 9001, or IATF 16949 quality systems.

Experience in medical device, precision machining, injection moulding added advantage.
