Jora Malaysia is seeking a Quality Control Assistant Manager to oversee QC operations and metrology programs in a high-precision production environment. You will manage daily QC activities, ensure accurate measurement, and maintain calibration schedules across CMMs and vision systems.
You will lead troubleshooting, implement GR&R studies, and drive 5S adherence while guiding junior inspectors. A strong background in GD&T, ISO quality standards, and data integrity is required.

Overview:
As the Quality Control Assistant Manager, you are responsible for maintaining the company's product quality. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Incoming and Outgoing Quality Control. Your role focuses on hands‑on troubleshooting of measurement issues, implementing new metrology equipment, and continuously upgrading measurement methods to meet strict high-precision engineering standards.
Supervise daily operations of the QC department and QC technicians to ensure maximum throughput.
Enforce strict inspection protocols for incoming raw materials, and final components before shipping.
Oversee first-article inspection (FAI) for new drawings in production and for outsource parts
Direct the generation, verification, and digital storage of high-accuracy quality inspection reports.
Oversee high-precision metrology assets including CMM, Vision Measurement Systems, micrometers, gauges.
Guarantee 100% compliance with strict equipment calibration schedules and maintain flawless traceability logs.
Conduct Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) studies to validate measurement system variation and inspector consistency.
Enforce strict compliance with ISO quality standards and maintain absolute 5S housekeeping practices within the QC department.
Lead troubleshooting activities for measurement issues during series production. Provide technical guidance to staff on troubleshooting procedures.
Segregate non-conforming parts immediately to the designated MRB (Material Review Board) hold area to prevent accidental use. Log non-conformance report in ERP system.
Participate in Root Cause analyses and actively troubleshoot issues with measurements.
Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools to identify physical variation patterns on the production line
Train and mentor junior inspectors and QC technicians on inspection techniques, GD&T, and equipment usages and calibration.
Promote a culture of quality ownership and continuous improvement across all departments.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control, preferably in precision engineering or related industries. of which 2 years in a management role.
Proficient with QC Measurement Equipment: CMM, Video measurement, micrometre, gauges.
Strong knowledge of reading technical drawings, GD&T and industry quality standards.
Excellent problem solver, independent, curious self-starter
