Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a hands-on CMM Specialist to bridge Metrology, Production, and Engineering. You will ensure high‑precision CMM measurement programming and daily quality support while enabling smooth New Product Development.

The role requires 3+ years of CMM experience, independence in programming, and strong GD&T skills. ISO 9001/IATF16949 exposure is a plus; 5‑day week; Diploma/Engineering degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in CMM operation and programming in a manufacturing or metrology environment.
• Capable of independent CMM programming from Day 1.
• Fully proficient in CMM programming (ZEISS / Accuretech CALYPSO or equivalent) and reading translating drawings and GD&T.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with Production, QA/QC, and Engineering teams.
• Experience in Plastic Injection Molding is a strong added advantage.
• Exposure to ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 manufacturing environments with auditing experience is an added advantage.
• Education: Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• CMM Programming & Metrology: Write, test, and optimize offline/online CMM programs from CAD models or drawings to verify dimensions.
• Daily Production Support: Collaborate with Production and QA/QC on key quality checks and inspections.
• New Product Development: Support trials and evaluations for new molds and parts with Engineering.
• Equipment Calibration & Care: Maintain and calibrate CMM machines and precision tools in QA lab.
• Internal Root Cause Analysis: Assist teams in identifying defect causes and implementing corrective actions.

About the Role

We are an established Tier 2 Automotive Injection Molding manufacturer seeking a hands-on CMM Specialist to join our internal Quality team. In this role, you will be the bridge between Metrology, Production, and Engineering—ensuring high-precision CMM measurement programming, daily shop-floor quality support, and smooth execution during New Product Development. Responsibility

• CMM Programming & Metrology: Write, test, and optimize offline/online CMM programs from CAD models or 2D / 3D engineering drawings to verify part dimensions and characteristics accurately.

• Daily Production Support: Collaborate closely with the Production and QA/QC teams on daily production’s key quality checks (In-process, Outgoing Inspection) and New Product Sample inspections.

• New Product Development (NPD): Work side-by-side with the Engineering team during trial runs, sample verifications, and engineering evaluations for new molds and parts.

• Equipment Calibration & Care: Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and routine checks of all CMM machines and precision measuring tools in the QA lab.

• Internal Root Cause Analysis: Assist internal teams in identifying defect causes (5-Why / Fishbone) and establishing internal corrective actions to prevent recurring production defects.
