Job summary

Horizontech Industries Sdn Bhd, based in Seberang Perai, Penang, seeks a Metal Work Planner to optimize metal fabrication and assembly scheduling. The role focuses on delivering production plans, coordinating resources, and maintaining efficiency to meet targets.

You will develop schedules, analyse requirements, and collaborate with multiple teams to ensure on-time delivery while upholding safety and quality standards. A Diploma or Bachelor’s in related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in production planning/scheduling within manufacturing.
• Proficiency in production planning software and MRP/ERP systems.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication processes including welding, machining, and assembly.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production schedules for metal work operations aligned with delivery dates.
• Analyse requirements and material specs to create detailed work plans and sequencing.
• Coordinate with production to allocate labour, equipment and materials.
• Monitor progress and address delays or bottlenecks with corrective actions.
• Manage inventory of raw materials and WIP to minimise waste and ensure flow.
• Prepare performance reports and metrics to drive productivity and efficiency.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering and procurement to meet requirements.
• Identify and implement lean improvements to reduce costs.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety and quality standards.
