Job summary

SmartHire by SEEK is seeking an IT Engineer to drive MES implementations and shop-floor automation. You will lead full MES projects, optimise modules, and coordinate cross‑functional teams to deliver value in a manufacturing setting.

Candidate should have a Bachelor’s in a related field and 3+ years in MES or industrial automation, with strong SQL and data-analysis skills. Role emphasizes Industry 4.0 initiatives in Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or IT field.
• 3+ years in MES, manufacturing systems or industrial automation.
• Experience leading full MES implementation projects through go-live.
• Exposure to electronics, semiconductor, automotive or high-volume manufacturing.
• Strong cross-functional coordination and technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead MES implementations: requirements, design, testing, deployment, training, go-live support.
• Optimise MES modules: PMS, IPQC, Traceability, Kanban, Reporting/B2B, LMS and WMS.
• Align MES solutions with business objectives, processes and quality needs.
• Integrate automation: MES connectivity with SFC, SCADA, HMI and PLC.
• Improve data visibility: develop reports, dashboards and KPIs.
• Analyse data to identify root causes and improvements.
• Coordinate MES projects: plan, resource management, and user support.
• Support system performance and preventive maintenance.
• Advance Industry 4.0 initiatives and smart manufacturing.
