Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an Area Manager based in Petaling Jaya to be the face of our client for unmanaged merchant partners. This role focuses on hands-on engagement, problem solving, and helping partners grow their businesses with the company.

You will manage merchant visits, resolve operational issues, and work with Sales, Ops, Marketing and Product to ensure a smooth merchant experience. Fluent English and Bahasa Malaysia are required, with Mandarin or Tamil an advantage.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of sales or account management experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Strong problem-solving and proactive mindset.
• Data-oriented with ability to track performance.
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin or Tamil an advantage.
• Knowledge of the local market.

Responsibilities

• Engage unmanaged merchant partners face-to-face and schedule visits.
• Educate partners on Merchant App and marketing features to grow business.
• Identify and rapidly resolve operational issues and gather feedback for improvement.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless merchant experience.
• Monitor KPIs and analyze trends to identify areas for improvement.

Working Day/Hours: Monday – Friday; 10am – 7pm.

Salary: Basic up to RM 4500 (Based on experience + skills) + statutory contribution + leave entitlement + medical insurance

We're looking for a highly motivated and empathetic Area Manager to be the face of our client for our unmanaged merchant partners. This is a pivotal role that goes beyond traditional account management; you will be our "Friend on the Ground," building genuine relationships, solving problems, and empowering merchants to grow their businesses with company.

Responsibilities

1. Merchant Engagement & Relationship Management

• Act as the primary driver of direct, face-to-face engagement with unmanaged merchant partners
• Set visit schedules, define key discussion points, and ensure the quality of interactions
• Educate partners on how to use tools (e.g., Merchant App, marketing features) to grow their business

2. Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement

• Identify and rapidly resolve operational issues, technical glitches, or other concerns
• Gather feedback from merchants and channel it back to internal teams for continuous improvement
• Document successful engagement strategies and share best practices with internal teams

3. Performance Monitoring & Collaboration

• Monitor KPIs including engagement rates, satisfaction scores, issue resolution time, and tool adoption
• Analyze data to identify trends and pinpoint areas for improvement within the assigned area
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Marketing, and Product teams to ensure a seamless merchant experience

Preferred Skillset

• 3-5 years of experience in a sales or account management role
• Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, self-driven mindset
• Data-oriented with the ability to track performance and analyze metrics
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin or Tamil is an advantage
• Knowledge of the local market and business landscape
