Job summary

PerkinElmer is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Manufacturing Engineer to join our production team in Malaysia. You will optimize processes, machinery and workflows to maximize efficiency, quality and safety while reducing costs.

This role requires a hands-on approach, strong problem-solving and project management skills, and the ability to mentor junior engineers and technicians while collaborating with cross-functional teams to sustain improvements and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or science-based equivalent.
• 3–5 years of manufacturing engineering experience in life sciences or medical devices.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and regulatory requirements (ISO, FDA).
• Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD), SAP, and simulation tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills; able to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Oversee daily production operations, ensuring schedules, quality, and safety compliance.
• Troubleshoot equipment, jigs, and fixtures; coordinate preventive maintenance.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with engineering, facility, quality, and production teams to implement improvements.
