Bagan Specialist Centre Sdn. Bhd. in Butterworth, Penang, invites applications for a Medical Officer – A&E & Health Screening.

The role involves timely medical assessment, diagnosis and treatment for patients in the A&E department, and performing consultations, examinations and follow-up care. You will review screening results, provide counselling, document notes, participate in ward rounds and collaborate with consultants and the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely and appropriate medical assessment, diagnosis and treatment for patients attending the A&E Department.
• Assess and manage common emergency and acute medical conditions, including stabilisation and referral when required.
• Perform medical consultations, clinical examinations and follow-up care.
• Conduct medical assessments for Health Screening clients and review screening results.
• Identify abnormal findings and provide appropriate counselling, advice and referral for further management.
• Review laboratory, radiology and other investigation results and communicate findings clearly to patients.
• Provide health education, preventive healthcare advice and lifestyle counselling.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans and clinical notes.
• Conduct daily ward rounds and provide medical care for inpatients under the hospital's care.
• Clerking, reviewing, and monitoring ward patients, including follow-up of investigations and treatment plans.
• Respond to inpatient emergencies and provide timely medical assessment and management.
• Work closely with Consultants and the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity and quality of patient care.
• Assist in patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and medical documentation.
• Work closely with consultants, nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and coordinated patient care.
• Participate in clinical activities, quality improvement initiatives and other departmental programs.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical guidelines, patient safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Perform other clinical duties as assigned by the Head of Department / Medical Director.

Job Requirements:

Recognised Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent).

Registered with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) and possess a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC).

Completed houseman ship with valid/full registration with MMC.

Experience in A&E, Emergency Medicine, General Practice or Health Screening will be an advantage.
