Job summary

DXN Limited, a leading modular data centre developer in Asia Pacific, is expanding in Johor. We seek a Mechanical Supervisor to lead mechanics, cooling, and safety for all module builds and to act as the technical reference during production.

You will report to the Head of Production and manage a team of specialists. The role demands strong experience in mechanical installation, commissioning, and supervision within industrial or modular data centre environments, with familiarity in ASHRAE

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years in mechanical installation and commissioning in industrial or modular settings, with 3+ years supervising.
• Experience commissioning precision cooling and managing fitout on packaged plants or modular units.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE data centre thermal guidelines and vendor documentation.
• Confident reading P&IDs, isometric pipe drawings and equipment GA drawings.
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Plan and sequence mechanical production activities to support the factory build schedule.
• Review mechanical design packages and raise RFIs for coordination issues.
• Issue daily work assignments and monitor progress against milestones.
• Conduct first-off and stage inspections of fitout, equipment mounting, cable containment and cooling pipework.
• Oversee cooling system tests, vacuum procedures and refrigerant charging; sign off test records.
• Manage FAT activities including airflow measurement, thermal mapping and functional testing; approve FAT docs.
• Review HIRARC, Method Statements and Lifting Plans; act as crane supervisor for overhead lifting.
• Coordinate with Electrical Supervisor to avoid clashes in cable management and commissioning sequence.
• Run performance reviews and mentor the mechanical team.
• Support mechanical scope schedules, resource plans and cost-to-complete forecasts.

DXN Limited is a vertically integrated manufacturer and operator of modular data centres across Asia Pacific. The Company designs, engineers, manufactures, and operates high-quality, prefabricated facilities for government and blue-chip enterprise customers.

This is an exciting time for DXN as we open our new facility in Johor. We are looking to build our new team and as such are looking for a Mechanical Supervisor to lead the mechanical and cooling disciplines across every module we build.

About the role

You will be accountable for the quality, safety and on-time delivery of all mechanical fitout, structural assembly and cooling system installation work in the factory. You are also the technical reference point for mechanical design queries that come up during production.

You'll report to the Head of Production and lead a team including Mechanical Fitters, Cooling Technicians and HVAC Technicians.

What you'll be doing

• Planning and sequencing mechanical production activities to support the overall factory build schedule
• Reviewing mechanical design packages (equipment layouts, P&IDs, structural drawings) before build commencement and raising RFIs on coordination issues
• Issuing daily work assignments and method briefings, and monitoring progress against milestones
• Conducting first-off and stage inspections of structural fitout, equipment mounting, cable containment and cooling pipework
• Overseeing cooling system pressure tests, vacuum procedures and refrigerant charging, and signing off test records
• Managing mechanical FAT activities including airflow measurement, thermal mapping and functional testing, then compiling and approving the FAT documentation
• Reviewing and approving HIRARC, Method Statements and Lifting Plans, and acting as crane supervisor for overhead lifting of module shells and heavy plant
• Coordinating with the Electrical Supervisor to avoid clashes in cable management, equipment positioning and commissioning sequence
• Running performance reviews and mentoring the mechanical team
• Supporting mechanical scope schedules, resource plans and cost-to-complete forecasts

What you'll need

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 7 years of mechanical installation and commissioning experience in industrial, data centre or modular construction environments, including at least 3 years supervising
• Demonstrated experience commissioning precision cooling and managing mechanical fitout on packaged plant or prefabricated modules
• Thorough familiarity with ASHRAE data centre thermal guidelines and precision cooling vendor documentation
• Confident interpreting P&IDs, mechanical assembly drawings, isometric pipe drawings and equipment GA drawings
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia

Mandatory licences and certifications

• Refrigerant Handling Certificate recognised by DOE Malaysia
• Overhead crane supervisor certification (DOSH-recognised competent person)
