Job summary

DXN Limited is expanding its modular data centre operations in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. The role focuses on designing, configuring, installing, and commissioning PLC control systems, SCADA and BMS interfaces to meet customer specs prior to FAT sign-off.

You will report to the Electrical Supervisor and collaborate with HVAC engineers and technicians to ensure integrated power, cooling, environmental, and security subsystems function as specified.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Automation, Mechatronics or Instrumentation & Control Engineering
• 3–5 years in control systems, PLC programming, SCADA configuration or BMS commissioning
• Experience in data centre, modular plant or critical infrastructure environments preferred

Responsibilities

• Program and commission PLC controllers for power, cooling and environmental monitoring sequences
• Build out SCADA / HMI and BMS front ends: graphics, trend logs, alarm screens and historian connections
• Install, terminate and test field instrumentation across temperature, humidity, differential pressure, airflow, leak detection and UPS/PDU monitoring
• Commission Modbus, BACnet, SNMP and OPC-UA integrations into the central BMS / DCIM layer
• Run loop checks, I/O verification and functional testing, and troubleshoot control logic and comms faults through FAT
• Validate control sequences with the Electrical Supervisor: set-point management, N+1 changeover, UPS bypass and EPO logic
• Produce as-built control documentation, PLC backups and SCADA configuration archives
• Support on-site commissioning at customer facilities as required

Job description

DXN Limited is a vertically integrated manufacturer and operator of modular data centres across Asia Pacific, designing, engineering, manufacturing and operating prefabricated facilities for government and blue-chip enterprise customers. This is an exciting time for DXN as we open our new facility in Johor.

About the role

You’ll design, configure, install and commission the BMS, SCADA and PLC control systems inside our modular data centre units, getting every power, cooling, environmental and security sub-system integrated and controllable to customer spec before FAT sign-off. Reports to the Electrical Supervisor, working closely with the Senior HVAC Engineer and Cooling Technicians.

What you’ll be doing

Program and commission PLC controllers for power, cooling and environmental monitoring sequences

Build out SCADA / HMI and BMS front ends: graphics, trend logs, alarm screens and historian connections

Install, terminate and test field instrumentation across temperature, humidity, differential pressure, airflow, leak detection and UPS/PDU monitoring

Commission Modbus, BACnet, SNMP and OPC-UA integrations into the central BMS / DCIM layer

What you’ll need

Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Automation, Mechatronics or Instrumentation & Control Engineering

3-5 years in control systems, PLC programming, SCADA configuration or BMS commissioning, including 2+ years in a data centre, modular plant or critical infrastructure environment

PLC programming proficiency in at least one major platform (Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000, Schneider EcoStruxure Control Expert)

SCADA / HMI development: tag databases, graphics, alarm management, historian and user access

Solid grasp of data centre control architecture (BMS, DCIM, power monitoring) and protocols (Modbus, BACnet, SNMP, OPC-UA)

Field instrumentation and loop calibration: 4-20 mA, HART, Pt100/Pt1000

Understanding of UPS modes, ATS transfer logic, CRAC/CRAH sequences and ASHRAE A-class thresholds

English and Bahasa Malaysia for technical documentation
