OCEAN VANTAGE ENGINEERING SDN. BHD. is seeking a Mechanical Planner to support planning and preparation of mechanical maintenance activities.
You will develop work scopes, job plans, coordinate resources, and ensure maintenance work is ready for execution, in close collaboration with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, Materials, Procurement, and contractors. The role requires strong organizational and analytical skills, proficiency in MS Office and CMMS/ERP, and the ability to read drawings
We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Mechanical Planner to support the planning and preparation of mechanical maintenance activities. The role will be responsible for developing work scopes, preparing job plans, coordinating resources, materials, tools, and manpower, and ensuring mechanical maintenance activities are properly planned and ready for execution.
The successful candidate will work closely with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, Materials, Procurement, and contractors to ensure maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to planned schedules.
Plan and coordinate mechanical maintenance activities, including preventive, corrective, and turnaround/shutdown maintenance.
Develop and review mechanical maintenance work scopes, job plans, work orders, and execution requirements.
Identify and coordinate required manpower, materials, tools, equipment, and services for planned maintenance activities.
Review equipment history, maintenance records, drawings, manuals, and technical information when preparing work plans.
Prepare job packages, method statements, material requirements, and other supporting documentation.
Coordinate with Materials and Procurement teams to ensure required spare parts, materials, and services are available before execution.
Liaise with Operations and Maintenance teams to establish work priorities and suitable execution schedules.
Monitor work order status and ensure planned maintenance activities are properly prepared and ready for execution.
Identify potential constraints, risks, and resource requirements and recommend appropriate actions.
Support turnaround and shutdown planning activities, including scope development, resource planning, and work pack preparation.
Maintain accurate planning records, schedules, work orders, and maintenance documentation.
Support review of completed work and update maintenance records for future planning.
Ensure all planning activities comply with HSSE, QA/QC, Company procedures, and applicable requirements.
Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by Management from time to time.
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
Experience in mechanical maintenance planning, maintenance operations, or a similar role will be an advantage.
Good understanding of mechanical equipment and maintenance practices.
Experience in work scope development, job planning, work orders, and maintenance scheduling.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and technical documents.
Good knowledge of maintenance planning processes and resource coordination.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Experience with CMMS, ERP, or maintenance management systems will be an advantage.
Strong organizational, analytical, and coordination skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to manage multiple work scopes and meet maintenance deadlines.
Willing to work at operational and project sites when required.
