Job summary

Jora Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Mechanical fitter to operate and maintain mechanical equipment at Pantai Dalam, within the Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) environment. The role requires a Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical engineering and at least one year of experience.

Candidate must be willing to work Sundays/public holidays with overtime and comply with all safety procedures at the plant. Salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical engineering or Certificate of Competency; MLVK or related certification may be advantageous.
• One year of working experience is required for this role.
• Willingness to work Sundays and public holidays with OT.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mechanical equipment.
• Maintain, prepare and safekeep all working tools and equipment.
• Lubricate and perform minor repairs to motors, pumps and valves.
• Perform cleaning and equipment inspections; adjust/replace seals and packing; assist with repairs.
• Perform all general preventive maintenance (PM) duties.
• Understand basic mechanical, electrical and hydraulic principles.
• Adhere to safety requirements of the plant.
• Carry out other related duties as assigned by IWK supervisory staff.

Scope of work:

• 1. Ability to operate and maintain mechanical equipment.
• 2. Maintenance, preparation and safekeeping of all working tools, equipment.
• 3. Lubricates and performs minor repairs or servicing to motors, pumps and valves.
• 4. Perform cleaning and equipment inspections as per schedule, adjust/replace seals and packing and assist with equipment repairs.
• 5. Perform all general preventive maintenance (PM) duties.
• 6. Knowledge of basic mechanical, electrical and hydraulic principles.
• 7. Able to understand and practice the safety requirements of the plant.
• 8. Carry out other related duties as assigned by IWK supervisory staff.

Qualification:

• 1. Minimum certificate from Polytechnic in Mechanical
• 2. Minimum SPM or equivalent with Certificate of Competency; MLVK (Intermediate Level- Electrical or Mechanical), Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Wiremen Certificate)
