Job summary

Fonco Engineering Corporation Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Fitter to join our engineering and maintenance team at our facility in Pusing, Perak. This full-time role focuses on installation, assembly, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment for mining and resources operations.

The ideal candidate will have a formal qualification or apprenticeship in mechanical fitting, 1–2 years of hands-on experience, and strong reading of technical drawings.

Qualifications

• Formal qualification or apprenticeship in mechanical fitting or related discipline.
• 1–2 years of hands-on fitter experience in manufacturing or heavy industry preferred; fresh graduates welcome.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

Fonco Engineering Corporation Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Fitter to join our engineering and maintenance team at our facility in Pusing, Perak. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our mining and resources operations. As a Fitter, you will be responsible for the installation, assembly, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and systems that are essential to our operational success. This role is integral to maintaining our high standards of safety, quality, and productivity across our mining operations.

Key responsibilities

Install, assemble, align and test mechanical equipment and machinery components according to engineering specifications and technical drawings

Operate and use specialised hand tools, power tools and measuring instruments with precision and safety

Adhere to all health, safety and environmental regulations and procedures on site

What we're looking for

Formal qualification or apprenticeship in mechanical fitting, engineering or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience

Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience working as a Fitter in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment. Fresh graduates also encouraged.

Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems, and mechanical principles

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and engineering specifications

Competency in using a wide range of hand tools, power tools and precision measuring instruments

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose mechanical issues accurately

Demonstrated commitment to health and safety practices, with ability to work safely at heights and in confined spaces

Physical fitness and ability to perform manual work involving lifting, bending and working in challenging environments

Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate maintenance records

Strong communication and teamwork skills, with ability to work collaboratively with engineers and other technicians
