Job summary

GDT Surface Technology Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Engineer/Technician to join our Seberang Jaya, Penang-based team in a full-time role. You will contribute to design, development, and maintenance of surface technology solutions, working with engineers and technicians to ensure quality and efficiency across projects.

The role requires a diploma or degree in mechanical engineering, 2–5 years of related experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to read technical drawings.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 2-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, maintenance, or a related technical role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with surface treatment technologies or related industrial processes is highly advantageous.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documents.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and systems in accordance with engineering specifications and industry standards.
• Perform technical testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance.
• Conduct quality assurance inspections and implement corrective actions to meet company standards.
• Support the installation, commissioning, and calibration of equipment at client sites.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all work activities.
• Provide technical support and training to operational staff where required.
