Job summary

Maverick United Consulting Engineers in Malaysia seeks a Lead Mechanical Engineer to lead and manage the mechanical design scope for building projects. Based in Kuala Lumpur, you will coordinate with teams and ensure timely, high-quality consultancy deliverables across HVAC, ventilation, piping and related systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 10–15 years of Mechanical Engineering design experience.

Job Duties

• Lead and manage the overall mechanical engineering design scope, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality design and consultancy deliverables.
• Provide technical leadership and oversee the work of Mechanical Engineers, drafters, and BIM resources.
• Coordinate mechanical design interfaces with electrical, plumbing, fire protection, architectural, structural, and civil disciplines.
• Lead design reviews, constructability assessments, BIM coordination, and clash-resolution activities to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Support procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover activities, including reviewing technical submissions and equipment selections.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 to 15 years of Mechanical Engineering design experience, preferably within an engineering consultancy environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, ventilation, chilled water, pumping, piping, and associated mechanical systems.
• Proven experience in design development, technical reviews, multidisciplinary coordination, and leading engineering teams.
• Familiarity with BIM tools such as Revit and Navisworks, and working knowledge of ASHRAE, SMACNA, BS/EN standards, and local regulations.
