Job summary

Molex in Malaysia seeks a Mechanical Product Design Engineer – Plastics & Sheet Metal to drive design for high-power interconnects. You will develop 3D models, drawings, DVP&R, and tolerance analyses while collaborating with Product Management, Sales, Manufacturing, and Reliability teams throughout the development lifecycle.

You will plan and execute NPDs and MODs, lead engineering changes, and ensure designs meet customer and manufacturing requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of product design experience.
• Experience with 3D CAD and engineering documentation.
• Strong collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for NPDs, MODs, Standard Product Options, and legacy product maintenance and technical support projects.
• Plan and execute assigned projects while ensuring deliverables, timelines, and project objectives are achieved.
• Collaborate with customers, Product Management, and Sales teams to develop VOC-aligned solutions while adhering to the Product Development Process and working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, AQP, Tooling, and Reliability teams.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
• Lead engineering activities to meet customer expectations and manufacturing requirements.
• Develop and maintain product models, drawings, product specifications, DVP&R, tolerance stack-up analyses, test summaries, and application specifications.
• Evaluate, define, and manage product and application specifications to support successful product development and commercialisation.
• Prioritise and manage work activities in alignment with organisational objectives while working closely with your supervisor.
• Contribute to the achievement of organisational, departmental, and personal goals.
• Apply Principle Based Management (PBM) principles in daily decision-making and work activities.
• Manage engineering change activities, including Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
