Job summary

Schmetterling Rental Sdn Bhd is seeking a Mechanic/Technician (Puncak Alam, Selangor) to inspect, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot a range of aerial work platforms including scissor lifts, boom lifts, forklifts and telehandlers. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy in service reports, and teamwork across Service, Sales and Spare Parts.

Responsibilities include on-site service, load testing, and preventive maintenance, with training and ongoing skills development.

Qualifications

• Minimum: SPM with technical or vocational certificate.
• Preferred: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Training/certifications in machinery maintenance, hydraulics, or electrical systems is an advantage.
• Valid driving licence (Class D; GDL is a plus).
• Willingness to work overtime or travel to site when required.
• Min 1 year working experience in mechanical support of Scissor Lifts, Boom Lifts, Forklifts or Telehandlers.
• Proficient in understanding and troubleshooting mechanical systems of Scissor Lifts, Boom Lifts, Forklifts or Telehandlers.
• Languages: English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair scissor lifts, boom lifts, forklifts and telehandlers.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on lifting equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues.
• Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
• Carry out load tests and functional checks after repairs.
• Keep maintenance logs and service reports up to date.
• Ensure safety regulations and company policies are followed.
• Provide on-site service when required.
• Assist in loading/unloading and transportation of machinery.
• Attend service calls and address breakdowns promptly.
• Train and collaborate with Service, Sales and Spare Parts teams.

Mechanic / Technician (Puncak Alam, Selangor)

We are a leading supplier in the rental, sales, service, training, and spare parts of various types of aerial work platforms including Telescopic Boom Lifts, Articulating Boom Lifts, Electric and Diesel Boom Lifts, Scissor Lifts (Electric, Hydraulic, Rough Terrain), and Vertical Lifts.

Due to business expansion, we are currently recruiting Mechanic / Technician in our Selangor Branch: No. 10, Jalan Eco Perindustrian 1/5B, Eco Perindustrian 5, 42300 Puncak Alam, Selangor.

The successful candidates will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting our range of aerial work platforms including Telescopic Boom Lifts, Articulating Boom Lifts, Scissor Lifts (electric, diesel, hydraulic, rough terrain), and Vertical Lifts. This role requires expertise in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, along with a strong commitment to safety and compliance.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for maintaining and repairing scissor lifts, boom lifts, forklifts, and telehandlers.

Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on scissor lifts, boom lifts, and forklifts.

Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.

Perform repairs and replacements on engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.

Conduct load tests and functional checks post-repair.

Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies within the workshop.

Provide on-site service for immediate maintenance needs.

Support in machinery transportation and assist in loading and unloading the machine.

Attend service calls and address machine breakdowns promptly and effectively.

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on lifting equipment.

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

Conduct inspections and testing to ensure equipment complies with safety and operational standards.

Accurately complete service reports, checklists, and maintenance logs.

Collaborate with the Service, Sales, and Spare Parts teams for smooth job coordination.

Follow company safety protocols and industry regulations during all tasks.

Respond to breakdowns or urgent service requests, including occasional on-site visits.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of workshop and tools.

Participate in training programs related to equipment handling and safety.

Job Requirements:

Strong mechanical aptitude and in-depth knowledge of Scissor Lifts, Boom Lifts, and Forklifts.

Good knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems.

Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and service instructions.

Skilled in using diagnostic tools, repair equipment, and power tools.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Responsible, punctual, and able to work independently or in a team.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to handle physical tasks and work in various environments.
